ROCHESTER - Evelyn Cormier, 94, died Monday October 24, 2022, at Langdon Place in Dover with her son holding her hand. She was surrounded by family over the past few weeks, all of whom kept vigil while she completed her transition.

She was born in Lewiston, Maine, on March 13, 1928, the daughter of George and Flora (Murdoch) Clark. She was the widow of Rudo Cormier.

Survivors include: her son, Rudy R. Cormier and his wife, Patricia Finnegan, her two grandsons, Michael Cormier and his wife Karen, and Matthew Cormier and his wife Shanna. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Colby, Emma, Jack and Wesley.

Evelyn was an excellent quilter. She lovingly created handmade quilts for her family. She was part of a small group of quilters who met at each other's homes once a week for over 30 years to sew and enjoy each other's company. The ladies became fast friends and enjoyed traveling to quilt shows together.

Family meant everything to her and she made it a point to have birthday celebrations for everyone at her house. Her house was also the place to be on Christmas Eve. She shopped for months, which she thoroughly enjoyed, so she could shower everyone with gifts.

She was shy around strangers, but always spoke her mind around family and friends. She was a strong willed, feisty and caring woman. She was an avid reader who made ample use of the public library.

Her family will never be the same without her.
