YORK, Maine - A Farmington, N.H., man was among four arrested in a violent robbery at a York motel on Thursday.

The incident unfolded shortly before midnight when York Communications received a 911 call from a woman staying at the Best Western motel who said a robbery had taken place and the subjects were fleeing in a white Ford pickup, police say.

When officers arrived they found a lone male walking on Cider Hill Road where they also located the white Ford truck. Four occupants were then detained, while a fifth escaped on foot.

Through investigation it was determined that the males involved went to a motel room to recover money allegedly owed to them from a male victim, who was struck in the face with what was thought to be a firearm before all the males fled in the white Ford truck.

All four suspects are charged with robbery and were transported to York County Jail pending an arraignment.

The four arrested were identified as Timothy Hefferon, 34, of 16 Elliott Lane Apt A, Farmington, N.H., Darren Guay, 42, of 25 Tamarack Drive, South Berwick, Patrick Smith, 32, of 23 Holt Road, Epping, N.H. and Travis Webber, 39, of 6 Scotts Ave., South Berwick.

The remaining suspect who fled the scene has been identified, and a warrant will be sought for his arrest for robbery.

A K9 unit was able to track and locate the firearm used in the robbery in nearby woods.

While following up on the initial robbery call, officers received information that one of the male witnesses to the crime had an outstanding New Hampshire warrant for Failure to Appear/Possession of Methamphetamine.

Curtis J. Maskell 39, of Nobleboro, was arrested for failure to appear. He was also charged with Fugitive from Justice and transported to the York County Jail pending extradition.

Officers confiscated drug paraphernalia and a small amount of meth from the suspects.

The investigation remain open, and anyone with information regarding the incident is urged to call York Police.
