Farmington woman crashes SUV into utility pole

ROCHESTER - Police responded Sunday night to reports of a car into a utility pole on Maple Street.

The crash occurred around 8:25 p.m. in the area of 27 Maple Street when a

2002 Ford Explorer being driven by Katherine Canney, 27, of Farmington, was headed south on the one-way portion of the street when it veered into the pole.

A passenger who was identified as Kyle Hamel, 27, of Rochester, was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for reasons unrelated to the accident.

The Ford had to be towed from the scene, while only minor damage was done to the pole. No power outages were reported.

The Rochester Police are asking anyone who may have information that could assist with this investigation, to call the Rochester Police Department at 330-7128.
