LEBANON - Faye G. Krause, 79, of Center Road in Lebanon, died unexpectedly on April 25, 2014 at her home.

Faye was born on May 23, 1934, in Elmira, N.Y. a daughter of Millard C. and Louise (Galbreath) Hayes.

Faye worked over 50 years as a dental hygienist, both in Florida and the Dover area. For 15 years, Faye owned Pine Tree Knits. She made beautiful hand-knit sweaters and warm socks. She fulfilled orders both locally and across the country. Faye was always taking a class or course to widen her circle of education and to meet new people. She loved visits at her home and was supportive of her daughter, Wendy, as she participated in field and track at school. She never missed an event and made sure that Wendy went to college.

Faye was a longtime owner of dogs and active with New England Sled Dogs. She and Wendy traveled to Fort Kent, Maine to watch the race. She and Wendy followed Women's golf and were in the gallery at many LPGA tournaments. You could find Faye with her colorful hats and sneakers! Faye enjoyed traveling, with a recent visit to Niagara Falls, visiting on the Canadian side. She rooted for the Portland Red Claws Basketball team. One of her more memorable times in life was taking a bobsled ride at the Lake Placid Olympic Track. Faye had an adventurist spirit and enjoyed looking out at the night sky, talking to "The Man in the Moon!"

Faye enjoyed politics and her television was set to the Fox News Channel. Faye loved to be out in the garden and was interested in genealogy. She even wrote a children's book, "The Littlest Sled Dog Team." Her life was not without challenges, but Faye kept looking toward the future. She will be dearly missed by her daughter and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Wendy Blair DeCroteau of Lebanon, Maine.

Faye was predeceased by her parents and brother, William Hayes.

A Service to celebrate Faye's life will be held later this summer.
