ROCHESTER - Ferne P. Boudreau died peacefully at the age of 96 with her family by her side on Jan. 1, 2024. She was born on June 19, 1927, to Donald and Abby Pomroy.

Ferne married her late husband Wilfred J. Boudreau on Aug. 23, 1949. Together they raised their family in Rochester. Ferne had many interests and hobbies. She was a true farm girl. Never afraid of hard work. She loved her horses and taking care of them. She also had a great love of sewing and would make her children clothes. No job was too big or small for her to do. In her later years she loved putting together puzzles on her tabletop.

Ferne worked at many jobs in her life. She was a stitcher in many local shoe shops. She also worked for Strafford County Head Start greeting the children and parents each morning. After leaving her job at HeadStart she went on to work at Rochester Walmart until the age of 93.

Ferne is survived by her three children; Daughter Marie Bennett of Somersworth; two sons Richard Boudreau and wife Geraldine and John Boudreau and wife Priscilla of Rochester. Ferne was also the proud grandmother to 8 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred J. Boudreau, son Martin Boudreau, son-in-law Norman Bennett. Plus, her twin brother Fernald Pomroy, brothers Birlem Pomroy, Donald Pomroy and sister Lois Gardner.
