Fire in apartment above garage claims life of 46-year-old Lebanon woman

LEBANON, Maine - Maine Fire Marshals are investigating a Saturday fire that claimed the life of a Lebanon woman.

The blaze was called in around 5:45 p.m., at a single-family home at 1320 Carl-Broggi Highway (Route 202) in Lebanon. The fire was in an apartment above the garage.

Rescuers located a 46-year-old woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation and the deceased person has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. Lebanon Fire Department also assisted on scene.
