The region's first measurable snowfall could be a nightmare for homeward bound Thanksgiving travelers.

As of now a Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Southern New Hampshire and Southwest Maine from midafternoon on Sunday through Tuesday at 7 a.m.

Heavy snow is possible, with accumulations of 6-10 inches or even more expected for the Greater Rochester area.

Forecasters right now believe the Northern Seacoast will be spared the ice storm that is expected along the coast in parts of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts, but any change in the storm's path could change those predictions.

The snow is expected to begin Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. and might be with us most of the day on Monday even into the early morning hours Tuesday.
