©DOVER - The first of four suspects in a pair of violent armed robberies that rattled Rochester last spring will spend at least three years in state prison and a year in county jail for his crimes.

Jacob Barrett-Carr, 24, of Somersworth, pleaded guilty on Monday to all of the charges against him, including armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and a host of others.

Barrett-Carr was one of four suspects involved in the consecutive-night attacks, first at the Sunset Motel on Milton Road the night of March 21 and at a Front Street residence in East Rochester the following night.

The three other individuals involved are Rian Luther, 33, of 34 Chestnut St., Cory-Lyn Luther, 27, also of 34 Chestnut St., and Amber Glennon, 22, of 61 Hanson St., all of Rochester

All four were indicted last fall on charges as follows:

Glennon: conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, armed robbery and two counts of falsifying physical evidence.

Cori Lynn Luther: conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, armed robbery and two counts of falsifying physical evidence.

Rian Luther: first degree assault, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, burglary, criminal restraint and two counts of falsifying physical evidence.

The more violent of the two attacks was on a Front Street resident in which a police affidavit notes officers responded to 30 Front St. shortly after 2 a.m. for a home invasion in which a male was allegedly attacked and beaten with a baseball bat while inside his home.

Upon police arriving on scene they were able to learn the victim had been home when two males entered his residence, one striking the victim in the head with a bat and the other pointing a handgun at him. Court records obtained by The Lebanon Voice reveal a chaotic and bloody scene as five officers arrived to find the victim allegedly bludgeoned with a baseball bat, unconscious and bleeding profusely from his head.

A neighbor of the victim told police she first heard him outside screaming for someone to call police, and when she came out found him bleeding badly from his head, falling in and out of consciousness and rambling, the affidavit reads.

Police found blood splatters in the living room area of the victim's home as well as on the inside and outside of a front window. They also found a BB gun that appeared to have blood smudges on it and a baseball bat with blood on the handle and the hitting area.

In a poignant August Lebanon Voice interview with Barrett-Carr's mom, Michelle Senechal of Rochester, she said her son had been snorting heroin for about four years and shooting it for one year, which led him on his downward spiral. She said he had tried to commit suicide twice and had on occasion cut himself. She also said that after he had been jailed after his arrest, he was doing better and wanted to move on and rehabilitate himself.

The next suspect to face trial is expected to be Rian Luther, who walked away from a plea deal in February. That trial is set for June.
