Five coronavirus deaths in one day, all men, three under 60

CONCORD - Fifty-three new cases of COVID-19 were reported today by state DHHS officials as well as five additional deaths, including three who were under the age of 60.

The state total is now 1,139 confirmed cases.

Of those with complete information, all are adults with 49 percent being female and 51 percent being male.

The new cases reside in Rockingham (21), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (14), Merrimack (5), Cheshire (6), and in the cities of Manchester (5) and Nashua (2).

Fifteen new hospitalized cases were identified today for 178 (16%) of 1,139 cases.

Seven of the new cases have no identified risk factors meaning community-based transmission continues to increase and has been identified in all counties with cases.

Those who died include a man from Hillsborough County, younger than 60, a man from Hillsborough County, 60 or older, a man from Merrimack County, younger than 60, a man from Rockingham County younger than 60 and a man from Rockingham County, 60 or older.

No new cases were reported in Strafford County.
