DOVER - A former Rochester man indicted two years ago on four counts of possession of child sexual abuse images accepted a plea deal on Thursday that will put him behind bars at the county jail for 12 months.
Jeremy Towle, 26, of Columbus Avenue, Dover, formerly of Dewey Street, Rochester, will also remain on probation for two years following his release from the Strafford County Jail.
He faced up to 7 years apiece for each Class B felony.
As part of his sentence Towle must complete any recommended programming, sex offender registration and follow all recommendations of a psychosexual evaluation, a copy of which will be provided to his parole officer.
Another recommendation required by the plea is that the defendant shall undergo sexual offender treatment and have no unsupervised contact with minors.
On two additional charges of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Imagery, the court sentenced the defendant to 3 1/2 - 7 years in the New Hampshire State Prison all suspended for 5 years from release on the House of Corrections Sentence.
The plea deal was agreed to just days before a jury trial was set to begin on Monday.
Among the images Towle is accused of having in his possession is "an image of two underage boys on the couch performing lewd acts," according to court documents.
Following his indictment in February 2022, Towle was a no-show at his arraignment spurring a manhunt by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force, which tracked him in Dover at a Columbus Avenue residence.
At the time of his arrest by U.S. Marshals a Strafford County attorney told The Rochester Voice Towle's trial was set for November 2022.
