ROCHESTER - Frances E. (LeBlanc) Deveau died peacefully on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Putnam Farm in Danvers, Mass. after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph G. Deveau with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, Mass. on May 17, 1931, Frances was the daughter of the late Laurie J. and Marie H. (Messier) LeBlanc. She attended and graduated from St. Jean de Baptiste School in Lynn, Mass. in 1949, and was employed in the Payroll Department at Lynn Hospital/Atlanticare before retiring in 1992.
Frances resided in Lynn, Mass. during her younger years, moved to Salem, Mass. in 1963, settling in Rochester in 1995 after retirement.
Frances enjoyed taking walks, hand-in-hand with her husband before his passing in 2009. She enjoyed family gatherings, gardening and knitting. She made many sweaters, baby sets, and blankets for her family and friends through the years which gave her great joy.
Prior to moving to New Hampshire, Frances was a communicant of St. James Church in Salem, Mass. Once settled in Rochester, she became a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, and was a member of the Sainte-Anne Sodality.
Frances is survived by her children, Gerald J. Deveau and his wife Patricia of Palm Bay, Fla., Rose M. Robicheau and her husband, John of Farmington, Lorraine M. Picano of Gloucester, Mass., and Claire M. French and her husband Scott of Raymond; her grandchildren, Brian Deveau and his wife Heather, Christopher Deveau and his wife Tina, Michael Deveau, Nicole (Robicheau) Minnis and her husband Erik, Daniel, Andria, and Stephen Picano and his wife Lindsey, Christin (French) Boudreau and her husband John, Scott French and his wife Samantha. She also leaves 12 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving her are her sisters, Jeannette Prezioso, Doris Castellanos, and Rose Falkowski and her husband William, and several nieces and nephews.
Frances was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, her daughter, Jeannette, and her sister, Theresa.
