Friends of RMFA weave art, community into one mosaic that enriches us all

ROCHESTER - Peter Abate, coordinator for the "Friends of the Rochester Museum of Fine Arts" presents an exhibit at The Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing in Rochester from Tuesday through March 30. A reception open to the public will be held at the Franklin Gallery at RiverStones Custom Framing on March 21 from 1-3 p.m.

The Friends of the RMFA is made up of a unique group of people who all have one thing in common: a love of art and community. The talents of the Friends of the RMFA cover a wide range of artistic media; including sculpture, oil, acrylic, watercolors, pastel, drawing, photography, fiber and other works on paper.​

"Friends of the RMFA participate in the "annual" Friends Exhibition at the museum in the Bernier Room and additional venues that may be offered to members of the group through the Friends Coordinator. Information on artists can be found on the RMFA Website under the Friends of the RMFA directory. Friends also have the chance to meet and have fellowship with other artists and art lovers, at all levels of proficiency. Additional venues planned for "Friends of the RMFA" exhibits through 2021 include the Glickman Library in Portland, Maine, The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts: Bernier Room Gallery, The Gafney Library in Sanbornville, the Art Place Gallery in Wolfeboro and the Haverhill Public Library in Haverhill, Mass.

RiverStones Custom Framing and the Franklin Gallery are open Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
