Frigid temps, gusty winds, 18 inches of snow forecast with behemoth of a storm

There's an old saying New Englanders have when it comes to winter weather: "It's too cold to snow."
Well, there's an exception to everything.
As of 5 a.m. this morning Accuweather meteorologists are predicting as much as 18 inches of snow in the Northern Seacoast during today's storm that will stretch well into Monday.
The current temperature in Rochester is three degrees, and it won't get much higher throughout the day.
In Rochester many churches will be canceling Sunday services, including Trinity Anglican Church on Rochester Hill Road.
The storm could easily last 36-48 hours in some areas before dry Arctic air finally overwhelms and turns off the snow early next week, according to Accuweather.

Thankfully for shovelers, the snow is expected to be of the light and fluffy variety.
Pockets of central New England could get up to 24 inches.
Today, snow is expected to begin with flurries around mid-morning, ramp up around noon and continue through Monday afternoon.
Meanwhile, today's temps won't get above 12 degrees, and on Monday won't get above 17.
Winds will be the most problematic during the overnight hours into late Tuesday morning with the highest gusts expected to max our around 32 mph.
The bitter cold will continue throughout the week with the mercury not expected to reach the 30s again till next Monday.
