SANFORD, Maine - A Rochester man was arrested in Sanford on Monday after a traffic stop revealed he had an outstanding warrant in New Hampshire as well as some illegal drugs, Sanford Police say.

The vehicle in which Michel Donovan, 34, of 21 Knight St., Apt. 1, was traveling was stopped on Winter Street around 5:40 p.m. for an undisclosed infraction.

A records check showed that Donovan, a passenger in the vehicle, was wanted in Rockingham County for failure to appear on a drug charge.

Donovan was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice and was found in possession of a quantity of Suboxone, a misdemeanor in Maine.

Donovan was transported to York County Jail, where a jail spokesman today said he was expected to sign a waiver of extradition and be remanded to Rockingham County authorities.
