ROCHESTER - A potentially dangerous gas leak forced a full evacuation of the Rochester Walmart on Wednesday before firefighters were able to find and staunch the flow from a propane tank that had ruptured.
The leak was called in just after 11 a.m., prompting a swift response from Rochester firefighters, who found the building evacuated and quickly filling with propane due to a worker rupturing a line in the building's interior.
Crews quickly secured the propane tanks and stopped the supply of gas to the building, which was then ventilated. Gas technicians were called to the scene to make repairs.
No injuries were reported, according to a press release from the department.
