DOVER - Genofeva Rowe Glidden, 92, of Dover Point Road, Dover, died on Jan. 17, 2023, after a 7 week battle with complications from gall bladder surgery.

Genofeva was born on Nov. 24, 1930, to Markus and Theresa (Wagner) Frankenberger in Pocking, Bavaria, Germany. After World War II she followed two of her sisters to Rochester. She met and married Maurice Rowe in 1954 and moved into their home at 12 Dewey St. in Rochester. In years following their marriage she and Maurice had three children. Daughter, Nancy, predeceased her in infancy. Maurice passed in 1972 and she later married Warren Glidden, who also predeceased her.

Genofeva was a passionate and lively 92 year old and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth, Lebkuchen, good times and holiday meals she could be found raking pine needles and working in her yard, hauling wood, shoveling and otherwise doing things she should not be doing at 92.

Genofeva leaves behind daughter Jane Montgomery and fiance Donnie McLean, son William and wife Carrie Rowe, grandchildren Nancy Haltemann and husband Rick, David Montgomery and wife Casey, Naomi and Gregory Hand, and Rachel Daggett, her sisters Maria Caplette and Helga Mayehofer, great grandson Mitchell and great-great Jackson, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
