DOVER - The Fremont man accused in a heist at George and Ed's convenience store in December has been indicted on Class A felony charges that could land him a 15-year prison sentence.

Anthony Driscoll, 31, of 80 Bean Road, is alleged to have robbed the downtown convenience the day after Christmas.

An alleged accomplice, Lana Markson, 30, of Nottingham, has also been charged.

Police say the robbery occurred around 5:55 p.m. when a man entered the store, brandished what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol at the clerk and took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash drawer before fleeing the scene.

The man was seen arriving and leaving in a small dark colored SUV/crossover style vehicle, which parked on an adjacent street.

According to paperwork filed with Markson's arrest warrant, she worked with Driscoll "to cause the commission of the crime of robbery" and cased the store just minutes before the robbery occurred.

The indictment accuses Driscoll of putting the store clerk "in fear of immediate use pf physical force when Driscoll entered the convenience store while armed with what reasonable appeared to be a deadly weapon, a firearm, pointed the weapon" at the clerk "and took money from the register."

Driscoll was initally held on no bail, but Strafford County Jail personnel said today he was no longer in custody there.

The indictments were handed down earlier this month and released on Friday.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, rather that enough evidence has been gathered to warrant moving forward with trial.
