ROCHESTER - Gertrude T. Duchesneau, 93, died peacefully on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at Rochester Manor. She had her loving family by her side. Born on May 30, 1929, in Quebec, Canada, Gertrude was the daughter of Jean and Mary Ann Hains.

Gertrude grew up in Canada, where she met and married Guy Duchesneau. In 1962, she and her husband moved to the United States. They settled in Rollinsford. They lived there for 43 years before moving to Rochester. She worked in various shoe shops and at GE for 13 years before retiring in 1989.

Once settled in Rochester, Gertrude became a faithful member of Holy Rosary Church in Rochester. She and her husband, Guy, were also members of the Rochester French Club, formerly known as Richelieu. Gertrude was a strong, caring and loving person. She always thought of others first. Her faith and family were foremost in her life.

Along with her parents, Gertrude is preceded in death by her siblings in Quebec.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Guy Duchesneau of Rochester; son, Daniel Duchesneau and wife, Lori, of Milton; grandchildren, Eric Duchesneau and wife, Lindsey, of Sanford, Maine, and Danielle Duchesneau of Gonic; great grandchildren, Garrett, Gavin, Alexis, and Haley; brothers-in-law, Donald Duchesneau and his wife Madeleine, Jean Duchesneau and his wife Patricia, and Michael Duchesneau and his wife Marty; and sisters-in-law, Collette Duchesneau and Marie Duchesneau.
