ROCHESTER - Gloria Mae Labrecque (Wentworth) 87, died Dec. 8, 2021 at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover after a period of declining health. She was born on Nov. 15,1934 in Dover, the daughter of Roland and Regina Wentworth (Viel).

She was a very caring person who always put on a pot of coffee when you came to visit and enjoyed spending time with everyone. Whomever visited usually left with something they didn't arrive with, be it clothes, a trinket or some food, as she was always willing to share what she had with others. She loved all animals and it wasn't uncommon to see her feeding the birds and squirrels that congregated outside her window, but she always had a special place in her heart for cats. She lost her own to heaven years ago and took comfort in caring for the homeless cats that took refuge in an abandoned building nearby. Every morning, bright and early, she'd be preparing a special gourmet meal for them and packing it up to deliver. No matter rain or snow, she'd be sure they had enough food and water to last them until her next return, and always gave them comfort and love.

She was blessed to befriend angels here on earth before meeting hers in heaven now. She became fast friends with Diane Chalifour, whom she referred to as an adopted daughter, and Phil Fisher who both lived in her building. They were a very important part of her life and she cherished and welcomed their friendship, love and support and enjoyed treating them to her home cooked meals to show her love and appreciation. Diane and Phil hold a special place in her heart and ours and we are thankful for providing needed comfort and support over the years, especially during these last few months when others were not able to be there.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Leonard Crouch; her three children, Richard D. Labrecque, Linda L. Labrecque and Laura L. Hicks (Labrecque); grandchildren, Angela Atwood and Zachary Hicks; and great grandson, Ryan Atwood.
