ROCHESTER - Granite State Bingo, a new bingo hall at the Lilac Mall located at 5 Milton Road, officially opened its doors on Friday. The bingo hall organizer, Susan Monaghan, and its seven core charity operators had operated in Dover for the past seven years, serving 30,000 players annually. The bingo hall serves as a critical source of revenue for area nonprofits who run the bingo games, raising up to nearly $900,000 annually since 2016.

"We look forward to fostering a strong partnership between the residents of Rochester and the nonprofits we serve as we open the doors on this new, larger bingo hall," said Monaghan. "For many of the nonprofits I work with, charitable bingo revenue is the lifeblood of their organizations and the services they provide. If we couldn't find a new home, those services would be in jeopardy."

Granite State Bingo supports one nonprofit for each day of the week: Dover Youth Hockey, Triangle Club, Dover Loyal Order of the Moose, Saint Ignatius Parish, Dover Rotary Club, My Friend's Place and Victims Inc. Granite State Bingo plans to invite one or two additional nonprofit operators via a Saturday matinee in the coming months.

Granite State Bingo's previous location shut down operations on June 29, to move to the larger, fully handicap accessible location in Rochester. The new, 240-seat hall, featuring 75" screens, will be Granite State Bingo's permanent home.

Nightly games will start at 6:30 p.m., with doors opening at 4 p.m. and two matinees will be offered, with a game at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and 1:30 p.m. on Sundays, with doors opening at 11 a.m. both days.
