CONCORD - A report released on Friday shows that that New Hampshire had the second highest tech-sector job growth in 2018, adding 2,819 jobs.

The report, drafted and released by The Computing Technology Industry Association, also found that the tech industry in the Granite State accounts for 13.8 percent of New Hampshire's economy - a top five ranking.

The good economic news was not lost on New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, who said it shows the strides the state is making in high-tech industries.

"The fact that New Hampshire's economy is once again ranked as a national leader comes as no surprise, thanks to our pro-jobs, pro-growth policies," said Gov. Sununu. "Our focus in the past few years has been to open doors of opportunity for New Hampshire companies, allowing for innovation to abound in the Granite State's business-friendly environment. These latest numbers are yet another sign that New Hampshire continues to set the example for other states on how to best encourage economic growth."

Rochester is one of the state's hot spots for technology with international firms like Safron and Albany Engineering and a high-tech educational hub with Great Bay Community College.

Additionally, the report found that New Hampshire is one of the top ten states for net tech employment concentration, employing nearly 10 percent of the state's workforce.
