ROCHESTER - HCA Healthcare New Hampshire colleagues made a meaningful impact across the Granite State during the organization's annual statewide community service month in April, volunteering nearly 900 hours in support of local nonprofit and community organizations.

During the third annual "We Show Up for Our Communities" initiative, 118 colleagues from HCA Healthcare's four hospitals in New Hampshire volunteered 860 hours with 65 community partner organizations.

Colleagues across Catholic Medical Center, Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Parkland Medical Center, and Portsmouth Regional Hospital exceeded the organization's annual volunteer goal and increased their impact by 20 percent compared to last year.

Volunteer efforts included preparing meals at local food banks, building homes with Habitat for Humanity, beautification project with Easterseals New Hampshire, and leading Earth Day cleanup events. Altogether, teams participated in 12 community activations statewide.

"Serving our communities is at the heart of who we are," said Dr. William Lunn, president of HCA Healthcare Capital Division. "I'm incredibly proud of our colleagues across New Hampshire who showed up in such a meaningful way, giving their time, energy and compassion to support organizations that make a real difference. Their commitment reflects the spirit of our We Show Up for Our Communities initiative and underscores our mission to care for and improve human life, both inside and outside our hospitals."

In addition to volunteering their time, colleagues helped secure $4,000 in volunteer grants for nonprofit organizations they support. Through HCA Healthcare's Volunteer Incentive Program, employees can earn $200 in grant funding for every 10 volunteer hours logged, up to $1,000 per employee, per year.

Across HCA Healthcare, April's We Show Up initiative resulted in:

• 1,866 nonprofits supported across the nation
• 9,790 colleagues who volunteered to meet local needs
• More than 41,800 hours dedicated to volunteering in the communities HCA Healthcare serves
