DOVER - Herbert Dean "Bud" Dowdy Jr., born on September 22, 1954, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2025, in Dover, New Hampshire at the age o 70. With deep gratitude for a life filled with warmth, laughter, and connection, his family and friends mourn his passing and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind.

Bud was a devoted husband to Beverly, his wife of 48 years, and a proud father to Matthew (Lauren) and Mackenzie (Katie). He found immense joy in being a grandfather to Jackson and Wesley. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Cathy and Dan, who hold their baby brother close in heart and memory.

A proud Eagle Scout, Bud exemplified leadership, integrity, and service from an early age--values he carried throughout his life. His passion for music was ever-present; a gifted French horn player, Bud's musical spirit lives on in the bands he shared with enthusiasm, and the melodies that filled his life with joy.

Bud was a natural storyteller, known for his ability to captivate a room with humor and heart. His words brought people together and made them feel truly seen and valued. His legendary hugs and unwavering presence made every family gathering special, whether large or small.
