ROCHESTER - The Rochester Historical Society and Museum will host a presentation on John Stark and the Revolutionary War led by Paul Timmerman. The free event will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m.

According to Timmerman, the presentation will highlight the life of Stark, his formative years, and his service with British Rogers Rangers.

"We'll talk about Stark's knack for being at and influencing key moments during the Revolution without which, things could have turned out very differently," said Timmerman. "As part of the presentation, I like to emphasize that history is with us today and we can visit and experience a part of it."

Paul Timmerman has a long-standing interest in American history. He is a Civil War re-enactor, currently with the 1st NH Light Artillery. He's also a Revolutionary War re-enactor, currently with the 1st NH Regiment. Timmerman is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for the Woodman Museum in Dover, a member of the Friends of Fort Constitution, and leads the planning committee for the 250th Anniversary of the Raid on Fort William and Mary.

The Rochester Historical Society and Museum is located at 58 Hanson Street, in downtown Rochester. There is free street parking and in nearby municipal lots. Visit www.rochesternh.net/history to learn more.
