Hollis man charged in hit-and-run that seriously injured Sanford boy

SANFORD - A Hollis man was arrested on Friday in connection with a May hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a 12-year-old boy who was bicycling in Sanford.

Branden Osten, 25, was charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident involving serious injury or death, a Class C felony.

Thje crash occurred on May 23.

Osten was taken to York County Jail where bail was set at $5,000 cash. Sanford Police Sgt. Matthew Jones said he anticipates additional charges will be filed in the future. He added that this case could not have been closed without the help from the public.

"We appreciate how upsetting this tragedy has been for the family involved and we are all wishing (the victim) a speedy recovery," Jones said.
