ROCHESTER - Hope on Haven Hill founder Kerry Norton was given the Pillar of Excellence Award by the Addiction Policy Forum, a national advocacy organization for those fighting substance abuse.

The award was presented in Washington at the annual conference sponsored by the Addiction Policy Forum.

"We are so thrilled for Kerry and glad that her dedication and tireless work over the past five years to ensure pregnant and parenting young women with substance use disorder have access to safe, quality residential and community treatment service." said Mary Ellen Jackson, current Co-Interim Executive Director of Hope on Haven Hill.

Hope on Haven Hill is one two residential treatment centers in New Hampshire for pregnant and parenting women challenged by substance abuse issues.

In addition to being a co-founder of the residential program, Ms. Norton has been instrumental in creating New Hampshire's only recovery house, Abi's Place, for parenting young women and their babies, to be opened in August. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on July 17 at noon at the new location, 38 Charles St., in Rochester.
