DOVER - A hung jury has led to a mistrial being declared in the case of a Rochester man accused of beating a man in 2019.
Joseph Carignan, 36, of 49 Royal Crest, had been charged with second degree assault for allegedly, "kicking or punching the victim causing his spleen to rupture" on Nov. 27, 2019.
The jury began deliberating on Thursday after a three-day trial; The Rochester Voice learned today that a mistrial would soon be officially announced.
The prosecutor in the case was not immediately available for comment.
