ROCHESTER - Ian Andrew Parsons, 44, of Rochester, passed away at noon, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital, Rochester, on September 20, 2014.

Ian was born on February 15, 1970, in Providence, Rhode Island. He grew up in Milton Mills. He graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, Dover in 1988. He earned a bachelor's degree in communications, from Emerson College, Boston, Mass., in 1993. He had a wide variety of jobs in his field, and over the years had worked at Turner Broadcasting, The UNIV Center in Georgia, Standard Register as a sales assistant, Iron Mountain, University of N.H. as a media specialist, Origin Micro, Inc. as a senior account manager, ORACLE as an account manager, ARC Plan as an inside sales manager, and at ECOAST Solutions.

Ian's first love was music. He was a singer, song writer, drummer, and guitarist who performed since he was 12 years old and throughout his career. Where ever he could get a gig, he was there. He also produced musical CDs and had a following of fans.

Ian is survived by his father Gordon B. Parsons and wife Wendy G. Parsons, his sister Amanda B. Parsons, his brothers Ryan A. Barber and Philip T. Barber, his daughters Noelle E. Parsons and Gertrude H. Parsons, his son Myles Parsons, his nieces Nicole J.E. Sprague, Alexis P. Riley, and Bella A. Barber, his nephew Jayson T. Sprague. his grandparents Frank and Edith Fuoco, many uncles, aunts, cousins, and dear friends. He is predeceased by his mother Elisabeth A. Parsons and his grandparents Donald B. Parsons and Ruth B. Parsons.
