ROCHESTER - If you go to Little Miss Sophie's on a weekend morning you might have to wait a couple of minutes for a table, but trust me; it's worth it.

Little Miss Sophie's is one of those restaurants that did some serious work with COVID-safety partitions to allow more capacity, and on Saturday the Farmington Road eatery was hopping.

As soon as the hostess seated me, my server was right on her heels with the menus and moments later coffee.

I ordered "The Basics," two scrambled eggs, hash browns and toast for $5, a reasonable price that proved extraordinary when I saw the amount of hash browns (with cheese), along with my eggs and gluten free toast, which only cost $1 extra.

I had never had hash browns with cheese, but they were delicious and required a doggie bag so as not to let them go to waste.

The toast was so good I had to ask my server if it was, indeed, gluten free.

She said yes and that it was Udi's, a premium gluten free brand I often buy myself at the market.

The service here is among the best around, and the hostess made sure to thank me for coming on my way out the door.

With coffee and the gluten free toast it was just $8 plus tax and tip.

Good food, great service and a smart price. That's the way to start any Saturday.
