ROCHESTER - Irene (Saks) Monast Lull of Rochester died on April 25 at the age of 84, peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Irene was born in Ventspils, Latvia, on May 27, 1936, to Janis and Jennie (Adamowitz) Saks. Irene, her parents, brother, and grandmother escaped Latvia during the invasion of the Russian Army and waited two years in a German refugee camp before having the opportunity to immigrate to the United States in 1947.
Irene dedicated most of her life to the nursing field in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire. She was also co-owner of Saks Mobile Home Park. She loved sewing, painting, knitting, gardening, and reading her Harlequin Romance novels.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Robin (Monast) Fountain, grandchildren: Jennie Fountain and Ricky Fountain, great-granddaughter: Amalie Fountain, brother: Imant Saks, Sister-in-law: Beverly Saks, Sister-in-law: Siegi Saks as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brother Rudolfs (Rudi) Saks and her late husbands Leo J Monast Jr of Attleboro, Mass., and Norman G Lull of Rochester.
