It's bad enough Biden threw 'em under the bus; now mainstream media is, too

When I went down to Washington to cover the resentencing of former Blackwater guard Evan Liberty of Rochester last September, one of the other reporters in the courthouse that day was investigative reporter Spencer S. Hsu of The Washington Post.

Hsu has been covering the Raven 23 case - now known as the Biden 4 - for the better part of six years.

So when I learned and wrote of the bombshell revelations contained in a motion recently filed by an Illinois law firm calling for the immediate vacating of all charges against three members of the Biden 4, including Liberty, I decided to clue The Washington Post in and sent their executive editor Martin Baron and managing editor Cameron Barr a link to my story and the underlying document filed by the Maher Legal Group of Geneva, Ill.

The motion authored by Illinois and D.C. attorney John Maher and his partner, Kevin J. Mikolashek, is a breathtakingly damning narrative of the egregious malfeasance federal prosecutors exhibited during the 2014 trial.

The Brady violations, which refer to the nondisclosure of material facts that would be beneficial to the defense, are voluminous, even overwhelming.

They include excluding witness testimony that justified Raven 23's actions in Nisour Square the day of the September 2007 firefight, not revealing that the lead Iraqi investigator in the so-called massacre was an Iranian sympathizer and known to be selling U.S. troop movements to Iran proxies, and charging Liberty with several counts of manslaughter and attempted manslaughter even though no witness ever saw him fire his weapon toward the square, only at a treeline away from the square.

The Washington Post notes that Hsu is an investigative reporter who graduated from Harvard and has twice been a Pulitzer finalist, but he must have no appetite to investigate this latest motion.

For more than two years The Rochester Voice has been seeking comment from New Hampshire's all-Democrat delegation, including U.S. Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Maggie Hassan and District 1 Rep. Chris Pappas.

Shaheen and Pappas personally promised The Rochester Voice to follow up on this, but never returned dozens of emails and phone calls.

It would seem that now with 17 days till the election The Washington Post feels that since Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden already threw the men of Raven 23/Biden 4 under the bus in 2010, why not just continue on that same swampy D.C. path of least resistance and throw 'em under the bus again.

I mean there could be a couple of cocktail party invites involved here.
