ROCHESTER - J. Bruce Roberts, 81, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Frisbie Memorial Hospital following a period of failing health.
Born January 2, 1934, in Rochester, N.H., he was the son of Dr. and Mrs. Walter J. Roberts and Jeremiah Stuart.
Bruce was a self employed carpenter and cabinet maker, and throughout his life he had served as the Chairman of the Rochester Planning Board, he was the Building Inspector for the city of Rochester, and was also a Call Firefighter, and Captain of Engine 5 for many years.
Members of his family include his children Michael Roberts, Guy Roberts, of Rochester, N.H.; Susan Frazier and husband Brian of Meredith, N.H.; daughter-in-law Monique Roberts of Rochester, N.H.; Michelle Messenger and husband Greg of Strafford, NH; and Kelley Bedard and husband Jim of Lebanon, Maine; his grandchildren Melanie, Cpl. Chad, and Kaitlyn Frazier, Jennifer Roberts, Matthew and Katie Messenger, Garrett, Gaige and Trent Bedard, and one great grandchild Peyton Mae Harper two step-brothers Richard Stuart and Norman Stuart, he will be sorely missed by his close friends Vern, Josh, Laurie, and Cindy, and his dog Bell.
He was predeceased by his wife June Roberts and his son Kevin Roberts.
