FARMINGTON - James W. Smith, of Farmington, formerly of Pinardville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at home with his loving wife by his side following a long period of declining health. He was born in Manchester on June 19, 1941, the son of James and Rachel (Marcoux) Smith.
He attended Manchester schools. He was a loving husband, growing up he loved baseball, throwing horseshoes and playing pool. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and especially the NE Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.
He was employed by Colby footwear of Rochester for many years, later retired from Thompson Tool of Rochester.
Survivors include his wife Barbara (Ouimette)of 29 years, step daughter Melissa Ridley (Frank) James, children from a previous marriage to Lucille Blanchette Ketchum include his daughter Kathy Adams (Bill) of Arizona, sons Eric, (Lynn Baach) of Buffalo, N.Y., Gary (Kelly Hiland) of Manchester.Grandchildren: Michele, Jordyn, Justin. Step grandchildren: Zackary Gagne, Tyler Gagne. Great grandson: Jaxson. James brother John (Terry) of Bedford, sister Rachel Paro (Steve) of Enfield, brother Richard (Sharon) of W Greenwich, R.I., sister Mary of Manchester and several nephews, nieces, cousins.
