ROCHESTER - Janet Bostick, 83, beloved mother and wife, passed away peacefully Sunday February 7, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a period of declining health.

Born on February 16, 1937, on a snowy winter morn in Lebanon, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Helen (Duquette) Rouleau.

Janet had worked for various companies throughout her life. She had many great stories of being a switchboard operator back in the early days. She retired from General Electric where she met many great friends. She kept in touch with her classmates looking forward to their monthly breakfast gatherings. She loved to make people laugh. Her witty sense of humor extended to strangers she'd meet in the store.

Besides her family, she took pride tending to and nurturing her flower gardens. She looked forward to the summer evenings when a neighbor or two would stroll over and sit with her in the open garage often talking for hours. She had several bird feeders on her property but it was the one hanging in the kitchen window that gave her comfort and joy during the last few months of her life when she was housebound. She loved the challenge presented when a gadget would break. It didn't get thrown away. She was quite resourceful and would often bring it back to life. Her innovative skills shined brightly through her love for solar lights. Heading off to Home Depot she purchased a handful of PVC pipes that she had cut to just the right size. She placed a solar light on the top and inserted them in her garden. She loved them so much she shared them with her family. She received many compliments on her creations. By the way, she had no idea what Pinterest was. These ideas and many others bloomed from her imagination.

Members of her family include her husband Harold Bostick of Rochester, her children Roxane Weymouth of
Milton; Belinda Silva and husband John of Lincoln, Mass.; and Joyce Gauthier and husband Chris of Rochester;
her grandchildren Amy, Christy, Jacob, and Johnny, and two great grandchildren Mallory, and Julia, her siblings Elaine Rogers of Galveston, Ind.; Joyce Smith and husband Ralph of Oakdale, Conn.; Alfred Rouleau, Jr. of Lebanon, Kenneth Rouleau and wife Kathy of Derry; and Ronald Rouleau of Rochester, and, several nieces and nephews.
