BARRINGTON - Janet M. McKenna of Barrington, died peacefully on Feb. 2, 2024, in the presence of her children.

The daughter of Ernest and Juliette Belleville, she was born on Sept. 15, 1937. She spent her childhood in West Lebanon, Maine, before her family moved to Rochester.

She married John J. McKenna, on Feb. 7, 1956. Until his passing they spent 64 years building a loving family and a successful construction business.

She will be dearly missed by her children John and his wife Anne-Marie; Michael and his wife Denise; Melanie and her husband Paul Morrisette; Jason and his wife Theresa; her eight grandchildren Brandon McKenna and his wife Burcin; Brittany Dickson and her husband James; Michael McKenna and his wife Tara; Marli Laurent and her husband Joshua; Alexis Spink and her husband Matthew; Paul Morrisette and his wife Jessica; Jason McKenna and his wife Aliza; John McKenna and his wife Patricia. Janet was so proud to welcome 12 great grandchildren: Priscilla, Allyson, Kylee, Kruz, Oaklin, Koral, Mira, Jason, John, Aaron, Elijah, Isla.

She was predeceased by her brothers Leo Belleville and Ernest Belleville, and her sister Irene Dupuis.

Janet treasured holidays and large family gatherings. An avid hunter, she enjoyed outings with John in northern Maine. She loved reading, gardening, and exploring the outdoors with her many loyal dogs. Genealogy was a passion and she self-published a book on her family lineage. She was a self-taught herbalist known at local craft fairs for her home-made soaps, tinctures and creams.
