ROCHESTER - Jeffrey E. Hatch, 59, of Rochester, died after a period of failing health on May 2, 2023, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital. Jeffrey was born on July 13, 1963, in Rantoul, Ill., to Clayton E. Hatch and Marie-Mai (Perrault). He grew up in Barrington with his two loving sisters.

Jeff married Katy (Catherine) D'Alfonso in York, Maine, on a bright sunny day on May 4, 2004. Together they shared an immense love for their grandchildren; spoiling them whenever possible.

Jeff loved football and played varsity for Spaulding High School, graduating in 1981. Jeff shared his father's love for baking and became a professional baker. He especially enjoyed the 25 years he spent baking for Market Basket.

Jeff shared his love of the ocean, fishing, nature, and dogs with his family. As his children grew, Jeff coached little league baseball, took part in fishing derbies, and made sure his family never missed dinner at their grandparents' house on Sunday. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching wildlife by the Salmon Falls River, watching his favorite New England Sports Teams, discussing politics with his Father-in-Law, Leo, and going on car rides with his trusty sidekick, his dachshund, Tucker.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Hatch. His children and their spouses: Christopher J. Hatch; Joshua E. Hatch and wife Amber; Matthew J. Hatch and wife Mary; and Erika L. Lavigne and husband Matt. 3 grandchildren: Evelyn T. Hatch, Eleanor M.E. Hatch, and Bradyn D.L. Lavigne. Loving sisters and their spouses: Lynn M. Walz and husband Jeffrey; Carol A. Miller and husband Scott Miller, 2 nieces, and 5 nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents.

The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital for their care.
