DOVER - John Louis Hartigan, 51, of Dover, recently died.

John, (affectionately called John Louis, aka Louis or Louie) was born on Dec, 9, 1970 to Peter Francis and Carole Hartigan, (Laverdiere) in Rochester.

John worked many years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and became a certified rigger.

John leaves so many friends and family heartbroken.

He was the guy who lit up the room with his presence. His quick wit and beautiful smile and infectious energy was loved by all.

His greatest love and joy in life was his darling, 3 year old son, Nathaniel Louis Francis Hartigan. John and Nathaniel were inseparable and their love for each other was undimmable. Together they shared great passion working in the woods at Nannie's house in Strafford, piling up slash and building a big wood pile for Nannie's wood stove or walking down the long path to the pond throwing rocks in the water and looking for frogs.

John leaves behind his loving family, his mother, Carole Hartigan; stepmother, Beverly Hartigan Nagy; sister, Lisa Hartigan Cormier, and her partner, Dave Belair and Lisa's son, Chase Cormier. John is also predeceased by his father, Peter Francis Hartigan and paternal grandparents, Dr. John Louis and Winnifred Hartigan; his maternal grandparents, Wilfred (Bumpy) and Clarice Laverdiere; as well as his stepbrother, Kevin Connolly. John also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins.
