ROCHESTER - John V. Belleau, 84, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a period of failing health.

John was born in Middletown, Conn., on July 21, 1930, the son of Henry and Alice (Shina) Belleau and was a longtime resident of Rochester, moving from Newmarket, N.H.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Rochester and was a Navy veteran. Prior to his retirement he worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and in the later years worked as a greeter at Walmart for 15 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surving members of the family include: his wife, Edna Belleau of Rochester, two daughters, Susan Swasey and her husband Robert of Rochester, and Cheryl Gray and her husband Michael of Alton, NH, five grandchildren, Robert Swasey Jr., Melissa Collins, Anrdrew Swasey, Jackie Gray and Johnny Gray, five great-grandchildren, one sister, Jeannette Blevins of Manchester, N.H., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
