ROCHESTER - After fighting a courageous and difficult battle with cancer, Joseph Paul Charbonneau, Jr. died on March 14, 2023, at home peacefully and surrounded by loved ones. He was born on Oct. 30, 1958, to Joseph and Carole (Ronan) Charbonneau. Joseph will forever be remembered for his kind soul, his silly nature, and his love for anything music. Originally from Groveland, Mass., Joseph spent time in New Hanosgurem Massachusetts and Maine; his favorite years being a stone's throw from the beach at "the cottage" in Cape Neddick, Maine.

After graduating high school, Joseph went on to join the Marine Corps from 1976-1980. He loved to share stories of his travels around the world while in the service, specifically his time in Okinawa, Japan. Shortly after settling back in the states, he began his lifelong career as a cable lineman, where he met some of his closest friends that he held close to his heart for the remainder of his life.

Joseph spent the majority of his life trying to have as much fun as possible. He often planned adventures with his two daughters, Amanda and Leah, exploring their favorite places and sharing laughs. From countless days at the beach, to his impressive hand at pinball at any arcade he walked into, to all of the memories traveling to spend time with family across the country. His ability to make anyone laugh, even in the darkest of moments, was unmatched. He also had an incredible love for music, almost always holding a guitar in his hands. He loved nothing more than getting a group of friends and family together to sing and play.

Joseph is predeceased by his mother Carole, and his brother-in-law John.

Joseph is survived by his daughter Amanda and her husband Thomas; his daughter Leah and her partner Kristofer; his father Joseph Sr.; his sister Karen; his sister Wendy and her husband William; and his brother Brian. He will also be remembered and loved by many other family members and friends.
