GONIC - Joseph Henri Moffett, 83, died Friday, September 7, 2018, at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Gonic on September 11, 1934, the son of Leo and Marie (Roy) Moffett.
Joseph was a Korean War Army veteran serving with his brother Nelson Moffett. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary church in Rochester, The Knights of Columbus, The Young Farmers, The Blue Army, and the Marian Movement of Priests. He loved to travel with Madelene visiting shrines and churches.
Joseph was a Union Carpenter for 40 years.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madelene (Rouleau) Moffett of Gonic; two sons, James and wife Claire (Paradis) Moffett of Milton, John and Jennifer Pierce; four daughters, Nancy and husband Scott Sirois, Kelly and husband Kevin Walters, Melissa and husband John Perusse, all of Gonic, and Wendy and husband Michael Dooley of Texas. Joe also leaves his brother Wilbrod Moffett of Wisconsin and a sister Yolanda Noyes of Rochester. He also leaves 27 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren that he cherished along with many nieces, nephews.
Joseph was a kind and loving spouse, father, grandfather and a friend to many.
