ROCHESTER - Joyce Muriel Brown of Rochester died on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 after many years of failing health. Born on March 5, 1946 in Andover MA, she was the daughter of Peter and Muriel Fisher.

Joyce grew up in Andover, Mass., and attended Andover High School and Northern Essex College. She moved to Rochester in 1967 where she raised her 3 children, Robert, Cindy & Bill.

Joyce touched many lives in the Rochester area. She was the owner/teacher of Big Bird Kindergarten, which she ran out of her home on Letourneau Street from 1973-1988. She was a large presence in the McClelland School PTA, Rochester Girls Softball League and was always the first to volunteer for any activity her children were involved in.

Joyce was well known for her quick smile and spunky personality. She spent many years at her family cottage on Broad Bay in Ossipee, where many wonderful family memories were made. She was a huge Red Sox fan, loved crafting, shopping on QVC, Christmas and Pepsi (in the blue can only.)

She was predeceased by her parents Peter & Muriel and her older brother Peter Jr. (Bucky) in December 2019.

She is survived by her children Robert and his wife Alison, her daughter Cindy Colby and her husband Greg and her son Bill. She has 5 wonderful grandchildren, Robert Walsh, Caitlyn Walsh, Joshua Brown, Noah Brown and Billy Brown. Her sister and best friend Linda Lounsbury and her husband Richie of Andover MA and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All who will all miss her dearly.

The family would like to thank the staff at Dover Rehabilitation Center for caring for Joyce over the past years. You were her other family and we are grateful for the wonderful care and love you gave to her.
