ROCHESTER - Judith Appleby LaCroix, longtime resident of Rochester, formerly of Berwick, Maine, died peacefully at the Rochester Manor on Monday, April 23, 2018 with her loving husband by her side.
Judi was born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia on April 19, 1943, to Rita M. (Britney) and Donald S. Appleby. She graduated from Berwick High School in 1963 as valedictorian of her class and worked at General Electric in Somersworth for 27 years.
A caring and inspirational person, Judi will be remembered for many reasons including her love of animals, especially dogs. Judi was a volunteer at the Cocheco Valley Humane Society in Dover. She and her husband were instrumental founders of the Rochester Dog Park.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother Jerry Appleby, Judi is survived by her husband of 37 years, Larry LaCroix of Rochester; step-daughter Marcia (LaCroix) Vina and husband Tom Vina; stepgrandchildren Nicholas and his wife Alexandra and Harrison Vina. In addition, she leaves behind her sister Barbara (Appleby) Gagnon of Berwick; several nieces, nephews and cousins; a host of close friends especially Dick and Dottie Cassidy; Rod and Linda Webber.
