DOVER - Judy Gore died peacefully after prolonged illness, on Aug. 17, 2022, on her husband Kerry's birthday, while holding her daughter Jennifer's hand she joined Kerry for his birthday party in heaven.
Judy was born on Feb. 13, 1939, in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of Nelson and Beatrice deGrasse and stepdaughter of Lillian deGrasse.
She attended the New York school system and was employed by Buffalo Children's Hospital, which led to a lifelong career in caretaking of the elderly and children.
For many years, Judy enjoyed her summer retreat to Cape Vincent, N.Y., where she formed many fond family memories.
In her retirement years, she continued to be active in swim groups and crocheting blankets for family members. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, an international society for women.
Judy was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Buffalo, and later, St. Johns United Methodist Church in Dover.
She is survived by her loving daughter Jennifer Gore MacKay and Jennifer's husband Joseph, granddaughter Morgan MacKay and her fiancé Andrew Robic, and her great grandson Andre Joseph Robic, whom she loved to see pictures of. Jennifer's family all live in and around Montreal, Canada, but have visited as often as possible.
Judy is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John and Jeanne Gore of Constiga, N.Y., Mary Grace Gore of Tonawanda, N.Y., and her special brother and sister-in-law Robert and Charlene Gore of Amherst, N.Y., along with lifelong friend, Mrs. Gail Lazik of Buffalo. She is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, her cousin, Mrs. Jacquline (Bill) Rennie of Florida whom she thought of as a sister, and several grand nieces and nephews. And, of course, all of her friends at Covered Bridge Manor, who she grew very close to.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Nelson, Jr., and her beloved husband Kerry Gore.
The family would like to thank her many friends for their support, and to the nurses, doctors, and palliative team at Wentworth Douglass Hospital.
