HOPKINTON - A juvenile led police on a high-speed chase after they failed to stop for motor vehicle infractions late Saturday night in Hopkinton.

State troopers got involved around 11:25 p.m. when asked to assist Henniker and Hopkinton Police Departments with a motor vehicle pursuit that had traveled through their towns after a vehicle failed to stop for officers attempting to conduct a stop for motor vehicle violations.

The vehicle, a 2017 Hyundai Tuscan, was reported to be traveling over 100 mph and was exhibiting lane control issues, according to a statement from State Police sent out on Sunday. The suspect vehicle ultimately made its way to Interstate 89 South in the town of Hopkinton. Shortly after the vehicle got on to Interstate 89 South, Troop D Troopers initiated a motor vehicle pursuit.

Troopers ultimately were able to utilize tire deflation devices to successfully disable the vehicle, forcing it to stop in the area of Exit 1 on Interstate 89 South. The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was found to be stolen and the operator of the vehicle was identified as a juvenile.

The juvenile was charged with receiving stolen property, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, reckless operation and operating without a valid license
