SOMERSWORTH - Kathleen (Hussey) Keelty, 92, of Somersworth, died with her loving husband and family by her side on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Kathy was born in South Berwick, Maine, on December 15, 1928, the ninth child of Martha (Goodwin) Hussey and Charles S Hussey. She attended South Berwick schools and Hampton Academy, graduating from Berwick Academy in 1946. She met the love of her life, Thomas J Keelty as a senior at Berwick Academy. When he came home after serving in WWII in the Navy they married on Sept 2, 1948. Kathy and Tom resided in South Berwick and Somersworth, where they bought a home in 1957. They spent 76 years together, 73 married. As one of her favorite songs sang out....they were "A peach of a pair". They raised a son and daughter in this house and welcomed many grandkids and great grandkids to it over the years.

Kathy retired from General Electric in Somersworth, after 30 years. She made many friends there and everywhere she went. She enjoyed summers with Tom and the kids and her large group of girlfriends at Wells Beach, Maine, for 30 years. She and her friends Claire, Ann, and Evelyn are all probably walking the beach again together.

Kathy and Tom had two children, four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren that were her whole world. She was happiest getting visits from the kids. She loved any pictures and trinkets they made.

She maintained her friends from her early years and made many new ones over the years who, sadly, predeceased her.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband Tom of Somersworth, son Kevin Keelty and his wife Carol of Portsmouth, R.I., daughter Karen Babb and her husband Lenny of Somersworth, four grandchildren Tara Babb Spencer and husband Mike of Rochester, Tim Babb and Jackie Perfetti of Alplaus, N.Y., Kris Keelty and wife Allison of White River Jct, VT, and Kate Keelty and husband Sean Walther of Portsmouth, R.I. She is also survived by her seven treasured great grandchildren as well as two sisters, Martha Abbott of Kittery, Maine, and Phyllis Clark of Tacoma, Wash.
