ROCHESTER - Kenneth E. Gallant, 84, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 5, 2017. Ken was born December 10, 1932, in Portland, Maine. He was the son of Alfred J. Gallant and Rosaline (Mullen) Gallant.
Ken grew up in Portsmouth and was a graduate of Portsmouth High School. He joined the Navy in 1952 serving in the Korean War. He worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a Nuclear Planner and Estimator. After retiring he and wife Bette traveled the country. They enjoyed spending winters in Florida.
Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and canoeing and spending time with family.
Ken is survived by his wife Bette, his sister Betty Barr of Portsmouth, N.H., daughter Lauren Conroy and her husband Terry of Barrington, N.H., daughter Lisa Gallant and her partner John Dyer of Eliot, Maine, son Kevin Gallant and his wife Rungjit Thinphonkrang, of Berwick, Maine, his grandchildren Tyler Conroy and wife Nicole; Ryan and Spencer Conroy, Jordan and Chad Dyer, Emma and Christopher Gallant, Andrea, Diane, Nicole Gallant, great grandchildren Teagan and Quintin Conroy. He was predeceased by his son Michael K. Gallant.
