ROCHESTER - La Corona Mexican Restaurant brings a lot to the table when it comes to taste, service, atmosphere and the bottom line.

Upon being seated a server brings you a generous basket of homemade tortilla chips and salsa, which tastes even better the next day from a doggie bag.

Martha began our lunch with a healthy matcha green tea margarita, made with tequila, triple sec and matcha tea. Matcha tea was also mixed in with the salt and sugar that rimmed the glass.

The Spinach Enchiladas filled with fresh spinach and Jack cheese, with sides white rice and black beans topped with grated cheese.

We had a sip and agreed it was quite good.

For lunch we both had enchiladas.

I had the Enchiladas Suizas: seasoned shredded chicken finished with fresh green tomatillo sauce for $9.25. It came with yellow rice with sour cream, refried beans, and to my delight, a small salad.

The chicken was distinctly flavorful and the sides copious and very good.

Martha had the Spinach Enchiladas filled with fresh spinach and Jack cheese.

Hers came with white rice and black beans topped with grated cheese for $9.75. The highlight for her was the spinach, which was finely chopped and beautifully sauteed, she said.

A HEALTHY LIBATION: The Matcha Margarita came with its own plastic take home jar which afforded an individual a second pour.

Both plates came out piping hot and very pleasing to the eye.

Adding to the ambiance is the restaurant's cozy booth seating which is among the most comfortable around town.

A nice touch at meal's end. The waitress and manager helped us pack up two doggie bags and a full bag of leftover tortilla chips ... and even a small container of the salsa.

Now that's a nice sendoff.

La Corona is located at 83 Farmington Road across from The Ridge.
