Lafayette St. man charged in Port City burglary

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - A Rochester man was arrested on Friday in a Portsmouth break-in.

Matthew Temple, 34, of 56A Lafayette St., was charged with burglary.

Police say they got the call around 1:40 p.m. for a burglary in progress in the Elwyn Park area.

According to police, a witness said they observed g a man force his way into the residence. The witness also gave police a description of the suspect and his vehicle as he fled.

The vehicle was spotted by Portsmouth Police soon after and pulled over where the arrest was made without incident.

Temple is being held at Rockingham County Jail without bail and will appear at the 10th Circuit District Court in Portsmouth on Tuesday.
