ROCHESTER - Larry R Cocarus, 71, of Rochester, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday March 1, 2020 after a brief illness. Born 9/27/1948 in Dover, he was the son of Yvette (Poirier) and James Cocarus.

Larry was a dedicated tool and die maker for over 40 ears starting and completing the apprenticeship at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard where he worked for 6 years alongside his future father-in-law. He then went on to work for Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick, ME for over 33 years, retiring in 2013.

July 3rd 1970 Larry married the love of his life Elizabeth "Trudi" (Allan) Cocarus. They would be celebrating their 50th anniversary this coming July.

Larry is survived by his wife Trudi married for nearly 50 years, 3 children, daughters, Heather Bilodeau and her husband Robert of Rochester, Hilary Jackson and her husband Ryan of Strafford, and a son John Cocarus and his wife Crystele of Farmington.

Larry is also survived by his 8 grandchildren whom he absolutely adored, Madison, Abigail, Skylar, Sydney, Riley, Haylie, Kendall and Reese. Larry also has two surviving siblings, a sister Karen Shepherd and her husband Shep of Union, and a brother Craig Cocarus and his wife Sara of California. Larry has several loving nieces and nephews. Larry also had a special bond with his favorite four-legged pal Bodie.

Larry really enjoyed being outdoors and was an accomplished fly fisherman and fly tier. You could often find him in his garden weeding endlessly. He also dabbled in painting, loved riding his motorcycle, was one of the biggest fans of the Beatles, the Red Sox and his Big Bad Bruins. Larry could also often be found enjoying his favorite pipe of course in the outdoors (because Trudi made him). Larry was instrumental in founding the very first Rochester Youth Soccer League with his pal Russ in 1982.

Larry's family would love to give a special acknowledgement to the Cornerstone VNA/ Hospice and especially to Larry's RN Sue. Thank you so much for all that you did.
