Lebanon blueberry growers speak at SMGC meeting

SPRINGVALE - The Southern Maine Garden Club will meet at the Springvale Library on Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. when the guest speakers will be Chris and John Bozak, owners of Berry Best Farm in Lebanon.

The Bozaks will discuss growing blueberries, raspberries and peaches.

Chris Bozak's been around blueberries all her life since her dad started the Lebanon blueberry farm back in 1955.

A little more than five acres of high bush blueberries are tended on the 75-acre farm, known at Berry Best Farm, which is located on Colburn Way off Center Road a short distance north of Shapleigh Road.

SMGC meets throughout the year at the Springvale Library on the third Wednesday of every month beginning at 6:30 PM (unless otherwise noted).
